If you are already an expert and just want a beautiful coffee table book, I highly recommend this book. It is beautifully produced with very provocative layouts. If you are a graphics designer who wants to learn more about color management, look elsewhere. Try Real World Color Management (2nd Edition) for general study and Billmeyer and Saltzman's Principles of Color Technology, 3rd Edition) for more advanced topics, particularly pre-press.This book is loaded with useful information and illustrated in a very stylish and clever way. Unfortunately, the body editing renders it virtually useless, at least for me. Imagine a great manuscript. Now imagine copying each paragraph onto a Post-It and putting them all on a large wall. This book seems to have been created by taking the Post-Its down in random order. If there is such a thing as "post-modernist" editing, this would be a good example. The structure seems more appropriate as a prayer book for the high priests of print design than a useful book for teaching.

This is a well-designed book showcasing some students work as well as more known designers like Ahn San Soo, and Art Chatry-in a word, many design examples in this book aren't the ones you seen in hundreds of other graphic design books out there. The work shown in the book aren't placed there randomly like a catalog display. They all effectively accompany a particular topic in discussion-about color.There are seven chapters in the book:1. Intro2. The Terminology of color3. Basic Color Theories4. The Creation of Color Wheels5. Color Calibration and Overprinting6. Color Prepress and Printing7. Behavioral Effects of ColorNote that the book for graphic designers. Those who want to study color theories and psychology of color may want to look else where. What l really like about this book is the discussion of prepress work and explaning step-by-step how to manange and correct colors. Like what you can find in the book, "Pantone Guide to Communicating with Color", there are also 19 pages of "color associations" which package designers may find useful. This book also blows away "Color Index." The book comes with a CD containing PDF files of "hue swatch system."
A very solid academic primer on color theory and color management. VEry recommended.
